This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Sharpie, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #NeonSharpie http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.
So, I wanted to be a hippie for Halloween this year! Cool plan right? I thought so too. 2 problems with that: I didn’t like any of the styles at the Halloween store, and they were all over $30. Not happening. Solution: I created my own with Neon Sharpies I purchased at target and I love it!
Check Out How You Can Be a Frappe This Halloween!

I honestly can’t think of a simpler, less expensive costume that you can make as quickly as this one. “]
Here is what I did:
First I went shopping at my local Target and purchased a 5 pack of NEON Sharpies (and instagramed cause I was so excited) and a t- shirt. You heard it right, neon and Sharpies got married! They couldn’t get any cooler, oh wait, they just did… they even have a coupon for you to use and save a dollar! Click here to redeem your’s while supplies last.
Then I made a peace sign stencil out of a piece of label paper, stretched the tee shirt over a foam poster board, and adhered the negative of the peace sign to the shirt.
Next I took my beloved Neon Sharpies, put them in a rainbow order that I thought was best. And colored my peace sign in with stripes!
I then removed the stencil, and it this is what was under it! Look how bright and colorful it is! Happy Dance worthy? I think yes.
Then I cut the neck line to make it a little wider and fringed the sleeves and waist line.
For the headband, I started with a long piece of white scrap fabric. I used the same technique using my Neon Sharpies and coloring in a rainbow of stripes. So simple- thanks to these vivid Neon Sharpies from Target! You can also wear this as a regular headband after Halloween in your everyday attire! Double purpose!
And here I am all decked out in my Handmade Hippie Costume:
Thanks to Sharpie for making this so easy and so bright! I would definitely recommend you follow them on Pinterest , they have so many fun ideas! And of course like them on Facebook! Social media is a great way to find and share ideas!
Have a great day everyone!
