Today me and a bunch of creative bloggers have gotten together to celebrate! We are celebrating Bella Craft Quarterly’s Birthday! Bella Crafts Quarterly is a really fun and informative FREE online magazine. Tanner and I were actually Blog Stars in the fall issue.. you should check it out! Since it is almost Halloween, it is a Halloween Birthday Blog Hop! Fun right?
For my project I had 3 goals. 1) make a present for my mom’s birthday, its actually on halloween. 2) make her able to wear it and be Festive on halloween and 3) That she could were it after halloween and not look like a witch or a crazy person. Here is what I came up with, a Statement Necklace:
I used a Spelbinders die to cut the Rowlux film into this interesting shapes. I’m not sure what the die was intended for, but it work perfectly for this project! Oh, and to get the Rowlux to fit in my Big Shot, I used my Wesscott trimmer, cut this thick film like no body’s business! Since it comes in 12 by 12 sheets this is important! Once I had all my pieces cut out I covered the middle row in ilovetocreate glitter! The final step was to poke holes and attach all the individual pieces together with jump rings.
I think my mom will love it! She is really into gig statement jewelry and of corse anything I make!
