Hey Everyone!
I am beyond excited to share today’s tutorial with you- it’s mind blowing and will take your average crafts to extraordinary places! I will be using color changing tape from Chameleon to make a color changing coffee cup! Here is what you will need:
- Paper Coffee Cup (from a local coffee shop)
- Chameleon Skinz–Color Changing Tape
- Sharpies in cordinating colors
- Scissors
- Parchment paper
- Black acrylic paint
- Foam brush
Now that you have gathered all of your supplies, you are ready to get crafty! Start by painting your paper cup black. You could paint it a different color as well, but I found that the tape really popped against the black.
Next, cut about a 15 inch strip of each color of tape and place them on a piece of parchment paper.
Once they are laid out flat, you can draw your designs! I choses hearts, because hot drinks can warm your heart, but you can draw anything you would like! You could even do bubble letters of your name so everyone would know it was yours. I recommend using a marker that is the same color as the tape, so if you don’t cut them out perfectly, you won’t see the line.
Cut out your designs, and stick the color changing tape to the cup where you think looks best. How cute is that??
But Wait! Thats not all! Look what happens when you pour your hot beverage into this DiY Cup:
When you add coffee or any other hot beverage, the hearts will change color because the Chameleon tape is heat sensitive. Then the tape hearts will turn back to their original color to let you know you need to heat up your coffee again.
Thanks so much for stopping bye today! I hope you enjoyed today’s project and I highly recommend you pick up some of the magic HERE!
Have a great day,
~Courtney
