2/28 | Sweet and Crunchy Chicken Nuggets

“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Post Pebbles, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #PostWalgreens http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV.”

Who says cereal is just for breakfast?  I picked up some Post cereals at Walgreens and love incorporating it into all of my family’s meals. For dinner tonight we’ll be cooking up some sweet and crunchy chicken nuggets with Honey Bunches of Oats and for dessert, a twist on a household favorite, Monkey Munch, using Honey Combs instead.

Here is what you will need for the chicken nuggets:

  • 3 cups of Honey Bunches of Oats
  • 2/3 cup of milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 chicken breasts cubed

The first step is to put the Honey Bunches of Oats in the food processor. This will make them into “bread” crumbs.

Now add you eggs to the milk and mix. Set up an assembly line in this order: chicken cubes, eggs and milk mixture, Honey Bunches of Oats crumbs. Simply dip each chicken cube in both, coating them nicely.

Place them on a greased backing tray and cook them for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. After the first 15 minutes flip the nuggets and cook for another 10 minutes on that side. The flipping ensures that they will be cooked evenly to perfection!

Serve with some apple slices, fries, and a dippy pile of honey mustard and your kids will be thanking you all night! Next time they have McDonald’s chicken nuggets they might be disappointed, so just be ready to cook these weekly!

And now.. for desert! Monkey munch is one of my family’s favorite treats. This deliciousness is usually made with chex cereal, but with Post cereals being on sale at Walgreens, I thought I would mix it up a little and try Honey Combs.

Heres what you will need:

  • 8 cups of Honey Combs
  • half a cup of peanut butter
  • 1 cup of Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup of confectioners sugar

This is really simple to make; here what you do. Start by putting the Honey Combs in a gallon size zip lock bag. Now heat the peanut butter and chocolate chips in the microwave for one minute, mix till smooth and pour over the honey combs, seal the bag and SHAKE it! I like to sing the song, “Shots” by Lmfao and change the words to shake while I dance around and shake it all up. Once all of the Honey Combs are coated with the chocolatey mixture, add the confectioners sugar and shake again. Thats it!

They came out great and were unanimously better then the traditional version. Looks like we will be having this new treat many more times! I highly recommend you try it!

Thats it ya’ll. Cereal for dinner and not the lazy way! What do you think? Will you be trying either of these recipes?
