Hey Everyone!
Today I am sharing with you an elephant canvas that I made for someone I know having a baby! She chose an elephant theme for her baby’s nursery which is a really popular trend in nursery decor right now!
Here is what you will need if you want to make one too!
- a 9″ by 12″ canvas
- Elephant cut out sheet (made with the Silhouette Fill page feature)
- 2 colors of paint
- foam brush
- Matte Mod Podge
- Mod Podge 4″ brush
- Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
The first thing I did was paint the entire canvas with the desired main color.
Place the cup out sheet on the canvas and trace one of the elephants. I chose one near the top right corner.
Now take your secondary color and paint in the elephant that you traced along with a little border around it.
Cover the entire canvas with a coat of Matte Mod Podge. The 4 inch brush is so nice because it speeds up the process and you won’t have those pesky brush strokes to deal with!
Position your cut out sheet to be centered, and seal with another layer of the Mod Podge. Then fill in the one different colored elephant with Dimensional Magic to make it stand out even more!
And there you have it! A simple but super cute canvas, the Perfect DiY Elephant Nursery Decor item! This would make a great gift as well. And if you want to get sentimental with me, you could say that this canvas conveys the message to always be yourself and never try to blend in with the crowd! Cute message for a cute canvas, am I right?
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you found some inspiration!
