You’re going to love today’s tutorial if you like to create DIY decor for your room! This would also be the perfect college dorm craft. It is easier than you think to achieve this colorful patterned canvas! I can’t wait to show you how to make canvas art with the fun new fabric.
- 12 by 12 white stretched canvas
- Oly*Fun Fabric in various colors- This is an awesome new polyester fabric that the edges don’t fray!! Cool right?
- Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Spray
- Marker
Step 1: On one piece of the Oly*Fun draw out the shape that you want to create the pattern out of. I chose to do this very simple feather shape in a few different sizes. To cut them all out at the same time, layer the different colors of the fabric under the one with the drawn out shapes and cut.
Step 2: Arrange them on the canvas how you like it and snap a pic on your phone. I like to do this when I’m working with the Fast Grab Tacky Spray so I already know where every thing goes once its sprayed.
Step 3: Remove the fabric shapes and spray the surface of the canvas with a generous amount of Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Spray.
Step 4: Looking at the arrangement in the picture that you snapped, place the shapes on the sticky canvas. You will want to work fairly quickly so they are all on before it dries.
That’s it guys! Nothing super crazy but I think it looks crazy cool. I love projects like this that are so versatile. Using this same process and just switching up the colors and shape, you can create so many amazing projects! What shape would you use??
