9/30 | Sharpie Dot Mug

Hey Everyone! So I’ve seen this sharpie dot mug idea all over Pinterest and have been wanting to make one for awhile. I finally did and am so glad- I love the finish product! I decided to use the word “dream” but really, you could use any design that you like best like heart, start, peace sign, anything! I’d love to see what you pick for your mug!

Here is what you will need:

-a cappuccino mug from the Dollar Store
-sticker paper
-sharpies

Step 1: Cut a design out from the sticker paper. I used a die cutting machine   but you can cut simpler designs out with scissors or use a paper punch.

Step 2: Place the sticker paper stencil onto the mug.

Step 3: Going around the design, make a bunch of dots with the sharpies. I recommend using darker colors closer to outline the design and then have lighter colors as you go outward. Then remove the sticker.

Step 4: Place your mug in the oven, AND THEN turn it on to 350. Set a timer for 30 minutes. It is very important for your mug to be in the oven while it preheats so that it gradually gets hotter and doesn’t crack.

And there you have it! An awesome and totally unique sharpie dot mug. I love it, even though im not a huge coffee fan. I plan to use my mug for soup, ice cream, and things like that. I could also see it being a cute pencil cup on your dest as well.
