Are you’re kids always asking to download another new app on the iPad? Today I am sharing an app that you can agree to with confidence and the kiddos will love it too! Disney’s new iPad app, Mickey’s Magical Math World, is great; it really helps kids learn to use their imaginations and learn to explore in new ways. It is part of a the new learning brand that Disney is launching for families with children ages 3-8. The the goal of the brand is to engage and enrich children through the power of imagination and creativity and I think this new app does just that!
Disney really outdid themselves with this app. I can’t even call it a game, because it is so much more then that! It is more then I ever could have imagined being in one app. It is an adventure. It is an integrative show. It is an arcade worth of games. It is a whole lot of fun! If i were you I would go and download it for your kids before you even finish reading this post.
It is hard to pick just one favorite, but i’d have to say that our favorite feature is sorting with Goofy. If find the kids playing it all the time! I just wish they were that adamant about sorting their toys! A really neat part about the Disney sorting game is that it really builds on itself and teaches your child the different shapes and colors. Its not just a race against the clock in which they are expected to already be experts. I love that they don’t get frustrated with it.
The app does a really good job at keeping kids motivated too. When they do a good job they get a pin! We have quite the collection of pins going on in our app!! But every time they get a new pin they always want me to come over and see. It is so nice to see they so proud and not frustrated for once!
One of our other favorite things to do in the app is designing rocket ships! I love seeing their creativity shine through with the colors and designs they chose. Its a lot of fun. And after they design their space shuttle, there are games that they can play with it in outer space! Everything is an adventure!
Overall there is nothing to complain about. Mickey’s Magical Math World is easy to navigate (even for a 3 year old), its educational, and fun because they are learning with their favorite disney characters! Who is your favorite? Mine is Minnie- could she be any cuter? The app was most definitely designed with kids in mind- they don’t need me to sit there with them and help them every 30 seconds like a lot of other apps that we have tested.
The app for parents is great too! With the Disney Imagicademy:Parents app (available on iPads and iPhones) you are able to track your child’s progress in Mickey’s Magical Math World and give them a encouraging virtual “high-five.” It is so much more then just that tho; it is an amazing parenting resource. There are tons of articles to help you help you children to the best of their ability!
