7/31 | DecoArt Dry Erase Board Frame

Hey everyone, here’s tutorial with the awesome DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Picture Frame–any size, any color
  • DecoArt Chalky Finish paint
  • Paper cutter (scissors will work, too)
  • Foam brush
  • Washi tape
  • Cardstock
  • Letter stickers
  • Dry erase marker

Step 1. Remove the glass and backing. Using the foam brush and the DecoArt Chalky Finish paint (the color I used is called Serene), paint the frame. You might want to use painters tape to tape off the edges first. I was originally planning on doing two coats, but I decided I liked seeing some of the black frame shine through… It made it look almost antique-y, which is why the Chalky Finish paint is so great!

Step 2. While the frame is drying, use a paper cutter or scissors to cut your cardstock to the appropriate size. Since my frame is 5 x 7 inches, I cut the paper to that size.

Step 3. The next few steps are optional, just decorate the cardstock in any way that you want! Section off the top 1-2 inches of the cardstock with washi tape.

Step 4. Using the letter stickers, label the top of the cardstock To Do. Insert the paper and glass into the frame.

And that’s it! This simple DIY project using the DecoArt Chalky Finish paint is super simple, and it only took me about 30 minutes, including paint drying time!
