Every once in a while you just need a change. My bedroom had been the exact same for about 5 years and to be honest it was getting a little boring. I wasn’t about to completely redo it, but I did want to spruce it up. The biggest and best addition to my room was the DIY under the bed lighting.

The short video that I posted on Instagram shows the transformation in an extremely sped up way.
The first thing I did was take my mattress box spring off of my bed. This tutorial is for beds that have a frame like this one shown above, but I am sure you can come up with a way for your bed if it is not like mine. Be creative!
I used Enbrighten Café String Lights by Jasco and they were perfect for the job. They are LED and so sturdy that you will never have to replace them. They gave off just the right amount of light to make the bed glow. The great thing about these string lights is that they can be used indoor and outdoor. They aren’t your traditional string lights and have a much cooler shape.
Then I simply draped the lights over the support beams. You will want to make sure that you start with the plug toward the back. Also, if you have a lower bed, make sure that you pull them tight enough so that the lights don’t touch the floor.
Then I just put my box spring and mattress back on. I am in love with this look. When I lay in bed, they give off the perfect amount of light and make the room look so pretty. It also is great for guiding your way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Really, I think everyone needs this in their life.
