2/28 | DIY Wood Burned Cutting Board

Have you ever used a wood burning tool before? If you haven’t you need to ASAP! It is so much fun! I decided to give a plain old cutting board a fun new life. This DIY wood burned cutting board has a sort of aztec design and I think it turned out pretty great (even thought my wood burning isn’t 100% perfect)!

Here is what you will need to make this project:

These DIY Wood Burned Spoons are easier than you think to create.”]

Step One: Draw out a design on the cutting board. The simpler the better when it comes to this. Just because it is easy to draw does not mean that it will be easy to burn it.

Step Two: Go over your drawn designs with the wood burning tool. It is a little intimidating but actually strangely satisfying and relaxing. Don’t be too particular about it, you may mess us and that is A-OKAY!

Step Three: Rub the edges with Metallic Luster. I LOVE this stuff! It is like creamy eyeshadow and the results are so shiny!

And that is it! It was such an easy but drastic transformation. Wood burning is also sort of addicting. While my tool is plugged in, I am always like “what can I burn next?” So don’t be surprised if you see some more wood burning tutorials in the near future.
