DIY Cat Scratching Post

Supplies:

  • 1 1/2 Inch Round Dowel
  • Pom-Poms
  • Wooden Plaque
  • Rough Rope
  • Wood Glue
  • Cat Toys
  • Saw
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush

Instructions:

1- Cut your wooden dowel in half with the saw, then paint the plaque any color you would like.


2- Once dry, glue one half of the dowel in the middle of the plaque, and then glue the other half on top to look like a “T.”

3- Wrap and glue rope going all the way up and around the dowel pieces, and allow to dry.

4- Hang and tie pieces of string from your dowel piece, and attach a few cat toys to some strings wherever you like.

5- Glue big pom poms to the ends to give it a finished look.

Your kitty will love this DIY, plus it’s easy to make and so cute to watch them play with it. It only takes a few materials and some personalized cat toys. You know your feline friend best, so you can pick the toys to use in this project. Don’t spend money at the store buying an expensive basic scratching post when you can invest and DIY this super cute one that’s also interactive, so your kitty can play while you’re away.
