With Christmas coming up it’s always a great idea to have a fun recipe to be able to make with the kids to make memories and keep them entertained. This is an Easy Christmas Cookie Recipe perfect to whip up fresh and have the kids help decorate them with all their favorite treats and let them get super creative. Kids love the reward of eating their creations so this is definitely a foolproof holiday idea. Supplies:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups flour

1/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Step One- In a large mixing bowl with a hand mixer, cream butter and sugar together until 3-4 minutes until fluffy. Then add your egg and vanilla extract until combined.
Step Two- Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then mix the wet and dry ingredients together until a dough forms.
Step Three- Sprinkle flour on your work surface and roll out your dough until its about 1/4 of an inch thick. Then use your cookie cutters to cut out your shapes and lay them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 350 degrees for 7-9 minutes.
Step Four- Now for the fun part. Let your kids take their icing and sprinkles and decorate them as they’d like.
