11/30 | Easy Christmas Cookie Recipe

With Christmas coming up it’s always a great idea to have a fun recipe to be able to make with the kids to make memories and keep them entertained. This is an Easy Christmas Cookie Recipe perfect to whip up fresh and have the kids help decorate them with all their favorite treats and let them get super creative. Kids love the reward of eating their creations so this is definitely a foolproof holiday idea. With all the stress the season brings sometimes we all need to step back, make a simple recipe and enjoy some family time. I hope you and your family enjoy this recipe as much as mine did!

Supplies:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Star and Christmas Tree Cookie Cutter

Step One- In a large mixing bowl with a hand mixer, cream butter and sugar together until 3-4 minutes until fluffy. Then add your egg and vanilla extract until combined.

Step Two- Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then mix the wet and dry ingredients together until a dough forms.

Step Three- Sprinkle flour on your work surface and roll out your dough until its about 1/4 of an inch thick. Then use your cookie cutters to cut out your shapes and lay them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 350 degrees for 7-9 minutes.

Step Four- Now for the fun part. Let your kids take their icing and sprinkles and decorate them as they’d like.
