12/31 | DIY Christmas Tree Ornament Display

If you’re anything like me then you have those few favorite ornaments you wish you could display somewhere other than the tree. I love getting super creative and even DIYing some ornaments myself, and all too often I also need somewhere to hang them to dry if I’ve painted them. This tutorial for a fun and easy DIY Christmas Tree Ornament Display is the perfect solution to both of those problems. You can personalize it any way you want and paint it classic green, or go rogue and paint it a fun color to match your space. I hope you enjoy learning how to make these stylish ornament displays!

To make your own DIY Christmas Tree Ornament Display you will need:

  • 3 inch wide balsa wood
  • square dowel
  • craft knife
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • hot glue gun
  • wooden ornament
  • string
  • spray paint

Step One: Use the craft knife to cut two 12 inch pieces and one 9 inch piece of the square dowels.
Step Two: Arrange the pieces into a triangle with the short one at the bottom.

Step Three: Use hot glue to attach them at the corners.

Step Four: Measure and mark the center of the balsa wood.

Step Five: Add a line of hot glue along the middle and place the triangle in the glue so that it stands up.

Step Six: Spray paint the whole thing the color of your choice. Also, spray paint the wooden ornament a coordinating color.

Step Seven: Add the ornament with the string by tying a knot at the top.

Wasn’t this idea so simple and fun? You could make so many in a short amount of time, and they look so cute when they’re done. They would make a great addition to anyone’s holiday decor, and you could even use them as a centerpiece on your holiday table. You could also make these and give them out with homemade ornaments to your friends and family as a great thoughtful DIY Christmas gift idea. I hope you all enjoyed it, happy holidays!
