When you start planning a party you always have a budget, and it’s hard to stay on budget when you’re buying all the decorations along with everything else. I love when you pick your party theme and realize all the amazing stuff you can actually DIY! That way you can save money, and create some super fun and unique decor for your party. Today we made these DIY Sweet 16 Party Decor- DIY Luminaries, and you’ll love making your own with the colors to match your party.
Here is what you will need to make your own DIY sweet sixteen party decor:
- colorful tissue paper
- glass jars
- Mod Podge
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
Step One: Cut the colorful tissue paper into small triangles. They don’t have to be perfect whatsoever. Think of it like you are making DIY confetti.
Step Two: Apply a layer of Mod Podge to one section of the glass jar. I think I did mine in about three different sections.
Step Three: Place the colorful triangles on to the Mod Podge covered section paying attention to what colors are next to each other and the angles. Try to make it look as random as possible, but still pretty!
