5/31 | DIY Tissue Paper Flower Canvas

We have been basking in the warm Spring weather! After a long winter, these 80 degree days are just what my soul needed. It so nice outside, that when I come inside, even if just for a few minutes, I start to miss the sun and the flowers. So the other day when it was a little rainy out, I headed to Michaels and then stayed inside to make some spring decor that would help bring the outdoors in. You’ll love this DIY Tissue Paper Flower Canvas!

I was able to pick up everything I needed for this project during one trip to Michaels which made my life so much easier. I don’t like driving all over town picking up supplies for a project from all different store. I would rather go to Michaels once (and probably spend a few hours there because they have so many cool products to choose from) and head home to get my DIY on! This project is so fun and easy so let’s get into it!

  • Elmer’s CraftBond Tacky Glue
  • Fine Tip Sharpie- Brown
  • Colorful Tissue Paper
  • Canvas

Step One: Using the Brown Fine Tip Sharpie, draw out a branch design on your canvas. You can add as many little branches as you would like to fill the blank canvas.
Step Two: Rip the colored tissue paper into small little pieces. No need to be precise here, the more random they are the better your final product will look.

Step Three: Add a small blob of Elmer’s CraftBond Tacky Glue to the endpoints of the branches.

Step Four: Scrunch up the pieces of tissue paper and place them onto to glue spots until the whole thing is covered. I found that I liked it best when I stuck to only 2 colors of tissue paper per canvas, but you can choose to make your DIY tissue paper flower canvas all one color or the whole rainbow.

Can we talk about how easy this DIY spring craft was to make? I spent maybe 30 minutes total making the two of these. That is my type of crafting y’all! I love the bright springy vibes that these pieces have brought to my room. They make me happy when I have to be indoors.
