Who knew we had a National Ice Tea Day? I did! June 10th is the day we should celebrate some good ice tea! When I say good ice tea, I’m talking about Milo’s Tea. There are a lot of ice tea brands out there, but Milo’s is different. It’s freshly brewed and free of preservatives or added acid while featuring natural ingredients. It’s the perfect drink to have at any summer get together. They have plenty of variety including sweet, unsweet, and no-calorie!
I thought I would throw a little get together on June 10th and surprise some friends with homemade Sweet Tea Snow Cones! I think making them on National Ice Tea Day is a great idea, but I needed to test my recipe first so I knew it was perfect. I found Milo’s at my local Walmart in the refrigerated juice section but they are available in lots of retailers. Find a store near you by using the store locator. After I gathered my supplies I went home and tested the recipe!
The recipes I found on the internet were complicated so I decided to make my own! It’s so much easier than you think and I can’t wait to show you!
You will need:
- Milo’s Tea (Sweet and No-Calorie)
- Ice Cube Molds
- Shaved Ice Maker
- Cups
- Spoons
Steps:
- Pour your preferred Milo’s Tea into ice trays.
- Let the trays freeze solid. It usually takes 6-8 hours, but overnight works best!
- Once they’re nice and frozen take out your trusty shaved ice machine. I’ve had mine going on 10 years and it still works like a charm. If you don’t have one you need one! Mine was less than $20 and you can make so many delicious things like these sweet tea snow cones.
- Add the Milo’s tea ice cubes to your shaved ice machine and let it do the work!
One thing I love about this recipe is that you can have some Milo’s tea cubes in your freezer all summer long and pop them out to make yourself a snow cone at any time! I’m so glad I chose to use Milo’s tea as well. I had no idea that Milo’s is a third generation certified woman-owned business! It actually started out as a restaurant in 1946. Then in 1989 Milo’s started selling their fresh brewed tea locally and now it can be found in thousands of retailers in the US. The company’s vision has stayed the same through the years; to provide products made with fresh, high quality, natural ingredients, and never to sacrifice taste. Speaking as someone who drinks a lot of ice tea, you can taste the difference in quality when drinking Milo’s.My friends loved the snow cones! They were a huge hit and everyone wanted to know how I made them. The only thing better than an ice cold glass of sweet tea is to turn it into a snow cone! Talk about the perfect summer recipe for any party or gathering. Kids and adults of all ages will love this. I hope you enjoyed learning how to make your own!
