It’s a super simple ice cream recipe, and kids love getting hands on to help make it. Today we’re going to keep it simple and show you how to make DIY Ice Cream In a Bag with chocolate chips.
- 1 Gallon Ziplock Bag
- 1 Quart Ziplock Bag
- 5 Cups Ice
- 3/4 Cup Rock Salt
- 1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 2 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1/8 Teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 Cup Mini Chocolate Chips

One- Pour your whipping cream, sugar, vanilla, and chocolate chips in your quart-sized Ziplock bag. Close the bag and squish it around until everything is well combined.
Two- Now add your 5 cups of ice, and rock salt into your larger gallon Ziplock bag. place your bag with the ice cream mixture into your ice bag, make sure the bag is good and closed.
Three- Grab a towel or some pot holders, set a timer for 10 minutes, and shake the bag all around! Once the 10 minutes are up, get your fresh ice cream out of the ice bag, scoop into serving bowls, and enjoy!
