2/28 | DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea

Guys! I’m so excited to show you a super fun Cricut gift idea that you can make for any of your friends that are getting hitched! This is a simple project, but it looks so beautiful. We, of course, used our Cricut Maker and added some fun twists to this DIY Cricut home decor. I can’t wait to show you all how we made this DIY Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea, so be sure to keep reading! We used a font that was already in Cricut Design Space, and we found the rest of our supplies at our local craft store. This project turned out great!

Supplies:

Steps:

1. Start off by cutting your wood slab. Pick the spot you’d like to cut, and get to sawing! Be sure not to cut the wood all the way through. We even sliced ours at an angle so the Plexiglass piece will be displayed at an angle.

2. All we did was open up Design Space and chose the font Watercolor Brush Script and we typed up the last name along with the established year in a separate text box. Once we measured our Plexiglass piece and sized them in design space, to make sure the text lines were even we selected both layers and chose “align center horizontally”. Then simply load your mat, select your material, and press that flashing Cricut button!

3. Once cut, weed all the negative vinyl. A pro tip that we’ve found is to burnish all of your vinyl before you even weed.

4. Measure, cut, and apply transfer paper to your weeded vinyl. Burnish again.

5. Another pro tip you’ll want to do is always apply rubbing alcohol to any slick surface you’re applying vinyl on to. It will remove any dust, dirt, and oil from your fingers which will help the vinyl apply flawlessly.

6. Once your alcohol is dry, remove the backing from your vinyl and carefully position your design where you’d like it to go. Try to get the positioning right the first time.

7. Peel off your transfer paper to reveal your flawless vinyl.

8. Now all you have to do is secure your Plexiglass piece down into your cut wood piece to reveal your awesome personalized Cricut Wedding Shower Gift Idea.  What do you think about this project? I love the way it turned out and I can’t wait to make more of these for all of my sweet engaged friends in the future. If you want to step out of your box and get super creative with your Cricut Maker.
