I love a good sewing project, but what makes me the most exciting is sewing projects that serve a purpose and make our lives easier. This DIY Packing Cube project is exactly that. It has changed the way that I pack for trips- long trips and weekend getaways. If you haven’t tried one yet, follow along with the video tutorial below to make one and then tell me what you think! If you have used one and have one, you know that you can never have too many of them, so add a DIY Packing Cube or 2 to your collection!

How stinking easy was that? Before I started sewing, I thought that this would be a complicated project, but it really isn’t. Now that I have even broken down all of the sizes for everything for you, it will be even easier. However, you can, of course, create DIY packing cubes in different sizes both bigger and smaller.

Have you seen Marie Kondo’s show Tidying Up on Netflix? I love the show and her way of folding. I love that with this DIY packing cube I can fold my clothes using the Kon Mari method even when I am packing. It really does help save space which can either allow you to bring more stuff (like craft supplies) or pack in a backpack or carry-on and save on luggage fees.

Another thing that I like about this type of packing cube is that you can see everything that is in it through the mesh fabric on the top. When I get to the hotel, I just take out the packing cubes and out them in the drawers. It makes both packing and unpacking so much easier.

As always, I am here to be your personal sewing cheerleader! You’ve got this guys!! If you happen to come across any questions that I don’t seem to answer in the video, just leave a comment on the video or this post and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can! Happy Sewing!!
