7/31 | Summer STEM Activities for Kids

We love doing STEM activities with the kids. They’re educational, but they’re so much fun! Learning can be a lot of fun when you do great summer STEM activities like these with your children.

This is a great way to help avoid some of the “summer slide” and keep your kids learning all year long. Not only that, but they will have a fantastic time doing each of these activities and so will you.

Summer STEM Activities for Kids

We have rounded up some amazing Summer STEM activities for kids below. Most of these are ones that you will want to do outside so get your supplies gathered and you’ll be all set for the next nice day.

Use marshmallows or pompoms in these fun shooters. You can set up targets for the kids to try hitting or bring out the measuring tape and see who can send theirs the furthest.

GEOMETRIC BUBBLE STEM ACTIVITY From Little Bins For Little Hands

Make your own bubble wands and then spend the afternoon blowing bubbles. What difference does the shape of your wand make for your bubbles? Your kids will have a great time answering that question.

You definitely want to be outside (and stand WELL back and take all safety precautions) when trying out these bottle rockets. But don’t they look fun? How high will yours go?

TENSILE BUBBLES From Babble Dabble Do

More bubble experiments! We can’t wait to see what difference the 3D bubble wands make!

CRAFT STICK CATAPULT From Creative Cynchronicity

Can you poke pencils through a plastic bag full of water without any leaking out? This is one of those “wow” moments for kids!

WHAT MAKES THE BEST UMBRELLA STEM CHALLENGE From Raising Lifelong Learners

Who can make the most effective umbrella? What materials and shapes work the best? This is a fun water play idea that is perfect for a hot summer day.

BUILDING POOL NOODLE STRUCTURES From Little Bins For Little Hands

Cut pool noodles into small sections and then use them for building. So much fun! Who can build the tallest tower? Who can build a bridge that will support your favorite toy truck? There are so many ways to go with this activity.
