8/31 | DIY Clay Cactus Ring Holder

I used to not be a jewelry person at all. But that was in the past and now I can’t get enough, especially of rings. It seems like I don’t have enough fingers. I could use a few more hands to wear rings on and craft too! I needed a place to put my two favorite sets of rings when I shower and sleep at night. So I picked up some clay last time I was at the craft store and came up with this DIY clay cactus ring holder. I have a thing for cacti and so it is like my favorite little thing ever right now You should totally make one for yourself. Keep reading for the tutorial if you don’t want to lose your rings and need a cute little DIY ring holder. Step One: Roll about half the package of green clay into a thick snake shape for the body of the cactus.
Step Two: Flatten the top out a little and then stick it into the small wooden wheel so that some of the clay goes into the hole.

Step Three: Remove the clay from the wheel. Create two little arm shapes that point up for the cactus.

Step Four: Mold the arms to the body to create the solid cactus shape. Then bake it according to the directions on the packaging.

Step Five: Paint the wooden wheel with the green paint. I picked the paint that was the closest match to my clay but you could also paint it a different shade.
Step Six: After the cactus has finished baking and drying, add a bunch of little lines with the thin marker all over.

Step Seven: Glue The cactus to the wheel so that it will stand up.

This is the perfect DIY solution to my problem of misplacing my rings. Now I always know that they are right there on my bed side table on my DIY clay cactus ring holder.I have gotten a lot of compliments on it and I have even made a few more for my friends as gifts. It really is a great inexpensive and easy DIY gift ideas for teens.
