Halloween is my second favorite holiday next to Christmas, and I take it very seriously. I love dressing up and being super creative, but I hate paying store prices for cheaply made costumes that twenty other people will have on that night too. I always opt for the DIY Halloween costume, not because I’m cheap, but because I can make it one of a kind, and exactly how I want it without breaking the bank.
This year I’m determined to find the perfect DIY Couples Halloween Costumes for me and my boyfriend. I found some super cute ones I thought I would share with you, too! All of these ideas can be DIY and you can customize them as you’d like.
DIY Couples Halloween Costumes
These are some adorable couples costume ideas you can make yourself just in time for this Halloween!
This costume puts a modern twist on the classic story, but everyone will still know who you are as soon as you enter the room. With Alices’ signature blue dress, the rabbits’ ears and clock, there’s no mistaking this dynamic duo.
If you want to get some laughs along with major creative points, you and your S/O go dressed as the classic painting American Gothic. It’s easier than you think to pull this look off, and there’s no doubt that everyone will love it.
If you walked into a party dressed as Forest Gump and Jenny, I’m sure no one would be expecting it, but it would also be very original. Don’t miss your chance to be original, after all, “Life’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.”
This is a great couples costume if you’re running low on time. Run to the thrift store and find striped shirts, then throw on some jeans and a beanie and you’ve got a couple of bandits! The black gloves and cash bags really add a nice touch though…
Of course, you have to know the story of Peter Pan in order to understand this couples costume fully, but if you do then you know how clever it really is! With some fabric and beginner sewing skills, anyone could pull these off.
As far as last minute costumes go, I don’t think you can get any easier than a lumberjack. If you’ve got jean shorts, suspenders, and a good flannel, you’ve found your costume. Perfect for couples who got invited to a last minute party and didn’t have a lot of time to plan.
Cute, simple, and sweet. This couples costume is an adorable idea that’s simple but so clever. Nothing goes together quite like milk and cookies, so try out this DIY for yourself this Halloween.
I think it’s safe to say that everyone who isn’t living under a rock has watched I Love Lucy, and what better way to honor the classic sitcom than dressing you and your babe up as Lucy and Ricky? You’ll probably have to buy her wig, but you can definitely DIY the rest of the costumes.
If you and your BF want to get super out of the box then you can be Barbie and Ken, specifically, this inspiration is from the movie Toy Story 3, and they really did a great job. I don’t think my man would be willing to go all the way to Ken, but if yours will then he’s a keeper!
You will get tons of laughs with this creative idea. This one is super DIY friendly and you could make this with a trip to Walmart and a printer. If you don’t have much time to spare but want to make a big impact, this couples costume is perfect for you.
