- 2- 5.5 inch squares of fabric
- 1- 5.5 inch square of fusible fleece
- sewing clips
- sewing machine
Step One: Iron the fusible interfacing onto the back of one of the fabric squares. Be sure to follow the directions on the packaging.
Step Two: Place the two squares right sides together.
Step Three: Sew around the perimeter of the fabric with a quarter inch seam allowance. The seam allowance doesn’t matter all that much as long as you use the same size on all four sides. I use a quarter inch seam allowance whenever I can! Be sure to leave a small opening!!
Step Four: Use the hole to flip the fabric right side out.
Step Five: Tuck the raw edges of the hole in and then do a top stitch all the way around with a 1/8 seam allowance.
Step Six: Using a ruler, draw a two inch square in the middle of the fabric. Then sew all along the line.
Step Seven: Pinch the corners together and do a few stitches 3/4 an inch in at each corner. This will make the sides stand up.
I told you not to be scared, it was so easy right?! I bet you’re looking at all your crap fabric now to see just how many you can make! They would make great personal homemade gifts for friends and family. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, What pattern and color would you make yours?!
