With spring finally here we all are dying to get out of school, go outside, and enjoy the warm weather and everything that comes along wth it. Finding DIYs to get us pumped for the upcoming season are what keeps me going. Ones like this DIY Glitter Planter are perfect to make in an afternoon that you can use in your room or dorm for years to come. Check out how to make your own down below.
You will need: 4-inch Foam Ball, FloraCraft Foam Cutter, white air dry clay, gold sequin glitter
The first thing that you will need to do is cut off a little bit off the bottom of the foam ball using the foam cutter. This will allow the planter to stand up by itself and not fall over.
Now to cover the foam ball with air dry clay. The easiest way I have found to do this is to roll out a chunk of clay into a sheet and wrap that around the ball soothing the seems and then added extra to cover the blank spots.
Now, dump the gold sequin glitter on top of the foam ball covered in clay BEFORE the clay dries. Using your fingers press the glitter into the clay so that it sticks and stays on when the clay has dried. Also, before the clay dries, add your fake plant, flowers, or succulents. (sorry I forgot to take a picture of this step guys!)
I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial, it turned out super cute and it was a lot easier to make than I first thought. You can add any color glitter you want to match your other home, room, or dorm decor! It would also make an adorable gift to a friend or family member. I would love to receive such a thoughtful homemade gift!
