6/30 | DIY Monogram Makeup Bag

Who doesn’t love a monogram? You could put a monogram on virtually anything and I promise you I’ll love it. This is probably something that you have noticed by the amount of monogram DIYs on the site. Today I am sharing how to make a DIY monogram makeup bag. This is a really simple but great gift for a friend. I made some for friends for graduation and they love them.

I’m getting married in September so I’ve been making lots of crafts with my soon-to-be- initials on them, so why not make some outdoor spring decor?”]

The first thing you will want to do is to design the monogram in Picmonkey. There are lots of free monogram fonts  like this one on the internet, so pick your favorite and download it. You will want to make each letter of the monogram in a separate text box. Make the two outer letters the same size and the middle one slightly bigger. I like for the letters to touch; it looks more customized that way.

Now you will want to open the picmonkey file in your electronic die cutting machine software. Size it to fit your makeup bag.

Place a big enough piece of vinyl in the color you want onto the mat and cut it out. Make sure the machine has the correct setting for cutting vinyl.

Remove the excess vinyl. The official term for this is “weeding”.

Using transfer paper or painter’s tape, transfer the monogram to the makeup bag. Make sure that it is centered and where you want it.

Peel back the transfer paper, and reveal your beautiful monogram!

It would be so cute if you filled the bag with a few bottles of nail polish or some makeup for the recipient. It is so personalized and they are sure to love it!
