The other day as I was looking for things to DIY at the thrift store, I came across this old, kind of rackety globe. It was perfect and I knew I wanted it as part of my room decor. So I brought it home and started brainstorming what I wanted to do with it. Since it was pretty large and going to take up some space, I wanted it to serve a purpose as well as being pretty. Then it hit me- chalkboard paint! made it into a DIY Pink Chalkboard Globe and am going to show you how!
You will need: an old globe | Americana Clear Chalkboard Coating |Americana Decor Paint Brush | DecoArt Metallic Lustre Gold Rush | Americana Multi-Surface Pink Tropics Chalk

Step 1: Remove the globe from the stand. Using the Pink Tropics Multi-Surface, paint the entire globe. It may take 2-3 coats, so be sure to let it completely dry between coats.
*Tip* You may want to set the globe on top of a cup or a roll of tape so it stays still while you are painting it.
Step 2: Now it is time to give the base a little facelift. I love using Metallic Lustre for this. You can apply it with a soft cloth or brush. Rub it all over the base and be sure to get it in all the little grooves. Once it’s dry, buff it with a clean dry cloth to make it shine even more.
Step 3: One the pink paint dries, apply a coat of Americana Clear Chalkboard Coating. Then apply another coat in the opposite direction to achieve full coverage.
Step 4: Draw! You can use this pink chalkboard globe for anything you want. I covered mine with inspirational words and little hearts, but the best part is that I can change it up anytime I want!
I love how bright it turned out with the hot pink and gold. The chalk really does pop too. I think this would make an adorable 3D to-do list. You could also write your favorite quotes on it. It is really up to you!
